DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing the construction and maintenance of roads, water, public lighting and sewer reticulation systems and other infrastructure projects.
• Overseeing construction of council structures & buildings inspections.
• Preparation of bills of quantities for council projects and works.
• Read, interpret and produce construction plans and specifications.
• Planning, designing, construction and maintaining of water supply systems.
• Preparing designs for sewer reticulations and maintenance works.
• Costing and supervising of construction sites and design projects on waste water disposal system.
• Preparing annual road maintenance programs and roads acquittals for submission to ZINARA.
• Contributes to the development and implementation of road safety policies and procedures.
• Management of contracts for all civil works.
• Assist in preparation of the departmental budget.
• Preparation of project proposals and designs.
• Any other duties as assigned by the District Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5“O” Levels including English language and Mathematics & Science.
• National Diploma in Civil & Water Engineering.
• A first degree in civil and water Engineering will be an added advantage.
• Affiliation to a professional body will be an added advantage.
• At least two (2) years working experience preferably in a local government environment.
• Computer literate e.g. AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and QGIS.
• No criminal record
